ADS-SR1 Simplex Repeater

The ADS-SR1 is a multi-function voice recorder device that connects to virtually any handheld, base, or mobile radio. It features exceptional voice recording quality and higher capacity than any other comparable device on the market.

The ADS-SR1 functions as a simplex repeater, and also as a voice mail and voice beacon device.

Cascadia Survivalist has found the ADS-SR1 to be very useful for temporary operation in remote areas, when beyond the range of more common duplex repeaters. By placing the simplex repeater on a remote hilltop communication is extended to surrounding areas that were not previously possible using a hand-held radio (HT). When leaving the area the ADS-SR1 and its associated radio is easily packed out (after someone climbs back to the top of the hill to retrieve it :-( )  We also use a ADS-SR1 in a more populated area to allow individuals to leave and retrieve messages for others.

When purchasing a ADS-SR1, we recommend paying the additional $15(US) to upgrade the recording time from 218 seconds (3.6 minutes) to 1734 seconds (29 minutes), especially if using the device for voice mail.

More information about the ADS-SR1 can be found on the Argent Data Systems webpage: https://www.argentdata.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=98

The Ham Radio Crash Course YT-Channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrkAqWEB7rs) did a review of the ADS-SR1.

While the ADS-SR1 is marketed to the amateur (Ham) radio community, it will work with any radio to which it can be connected. (Check your county's regulations about use of this device on other radio systems. Your country may have different regulations than does Canada).
